The features of a well-designed residential floor plan are wall stud and wall sheathing lines. To correctly draw a house plan you have to know how far to offset the wall sheathing and studs. Other features are hidden lines and also casements and fixtures. The casements and fixtures are very crucial to a house plan because they tell you where appliances and objects will go in the house. Doors are also important to draw with accuracy and they are difficult to draw because of all the offsetting and trimming you have to do. Dimensioning will help a lot to recognize when you have done something incorrect. It will tell you the lengths of any item you have drawn on your drawing. The most difficult task for me was putting all the casements and fixtures where they needed to go. Somewhere easy because they lined up with the windows but some didn't and you had to move walls so each could fit properly. This unit was very fun and my floor plan was well drawn do to all the knowledge I have come to learn in this class.
